Dagmawi Woubshet '94, Associate Professor at Cornell, Spends Day at CFS

We were honored to host Dagmawi Woubshet '94 at Church Farm School on Wednesday, April 29. Woubshet, who came to the U.S. from Ethiopia, is an associate professor in the English department at Cornell University in New York. Woubshet spend the entire day on campus, dropping in on various classes, having a "fishbowl" discussion with Doug Magee's "Great Ideas" class and having a Q&A reception with students, faculty and staff at the end of the day.
A scholar of African American literature and culture, Woubshet has been named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and received a faculty fellowship at the Institute of Ethiopia Studies at Addis Ababa University and the Robert A. & Donna B. Paul Award for Excellence in Advising in 2012. In 2014, he was named one of “The 10 Best Professors at Cornell.” He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University and his B.A. from Duke University.
