CFS Wins First Place Nonprofit Division in West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-Off

On Sunday, October 8^th, Church Farm School returned for the eighth time to the West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-Off. This year's dedicated and enthusiastic team consisted of scholars Shalva Bent ’24, Fayi Nshanji ’24, Jonathan Rivas ’24, Oscar Lu ’26 and Victor Lu’26. Led by Chef Jason Baker and his "Scrapple-licious Church Farm Chili" and Director of Marketing and Communications Stefanie Claypoole, the team took home the First Place prize for best chili in the Nonprofit Division and Second Place in the People’s Choice contest out of 52 competing teams. The West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-Off has become an eagerly anticipated event for not only the team representing Church Farm School, but the additional students and faculty who come to support the team and meet the close to 10,000 Chester County residents who attend the event. Proceeds raised for entrance into the event are used by the Rotary to help fund food, clothing and shelter for the needy in Chester County. Since first participating in 2015, Church Farm School has become a stand-out participant in the West Chester Rotary Chili Cook-Off, winning the coveted People’s Choice award two times and taking the nonprofit division twice.
