As dedicated a CFS student as there ever was, Mike Wallington '60 was a mentor to many younger students, and truly loved working the farm. Mike was an outstanding cross-country runner, leading Church Farm to a 17-1 record over his final two seasons. In track he was known primarily as a hurdler. He earned several Red Hats for breaking school records, passing one of these treasured possessions on to an admiring underclassman. Mike's devotion to CFS continued throughout his life, and the Sportsmanship Award given every year at Commencement is named in his honor. A true patriot, Mike served with pride and distinction, both at home and abroad. He was stationed in Iraq at the time of his passing, suffering a fatal heart attack during his morning jog. Mike's ashes were scattered on Church Farm property, a fitting final resting place for this Maroon and Grey hero.
