CFS Board of Directors Head of School Search Committee Formed

April 26, 2024

Dear Members of the Church Farm School Community,

We hope the start of spring has been joyful and productive for you and your families. Since announcing the appointment of Tiffany Scott as our Interim Head of School, we have been busy setting the stage for a successful search process for our next Head of School, who we hope to have in place by July 2025. Today, we are excited to share some important updates with you.

The Search Process
First, we have retained the leading national recruitment firm of Carney, Sandoe & Associates to guide Church Farm School through the search process. The principal consultants working with us are Darryl Ford, Brandon Jacobs and Burke Zalosh who together bring a wealth of experience leading executive searches and a strong network of connections throughout independent schools. We've been impressed with their enthusiasm and understanding of our school culture and community, and they are eager to partner with us. Darryl, Brandon and Burke will be on campus Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14 to meet with many members of our community and gain a broader perspective of our needs and wishes for the next Head of School. Keep an eye on your inbox for additional information about opportunities to meet with Darryl, Brandon and Burke, both in-person or via Zoom, along with a community-wide survey that will be sent early next month.

Next Steps
With input and information gained from on-campus and virtual meetings and from our community survey, we will complete a final Church Farm Head of School position profile, which is one of many ways we will be publicizing this search. To keep the search timeline on track, our consultants will be conducting preliminary screenings of candidates starting this month and after preliminary and semi-finalist interviews during the summer, we will identify a group of finalists to bring back to the school for public, on-campus interviews/forums this fall. Flexibility is a key component of this process, so please understand that the timing of some of these events may shift as we proceed.

The Search Committee
The ultimate responsibility for hiring a new Head of School rests with the Board of Directors. To aid in that effort, the Board has appointed a Search Committee comprised of its members. This group brings a deep understanding of Church Farm School and represents a broad range of perspectives and voices.

The members of the Search Committee are:

Communications
As the Search progresses, it is our goal to be communicative and transparent, understanding that we will need to work confidentially with candidates in order to recruit and interview the most talented leaders in the country. I will provide consistent updates as we move through the summer, and you can find information related to the Search, including all previous communications, on the Head of School Search webpage.
